Part-Time: Up to 29 hours/week

Location: Waldorf School Main Campus, 2539 Columbus Street, New Orleans, 70119

After Care Teacher Duties Include:

Offering supervision and care to children during the After Care Program (offered daily from 3:00pm-5:00pm Monday, Tuesday, Wed, and Friday, and 1:00-5:00pm on Thursday)
Arrive at work by approximately 1:45pm and check-in with Siesta Students and Early Childhood Faculty Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday; provide care until 5:00pm
Arrive at work by approximately 12:45pm on Thursdays and provide care until 5:00pm
Implement, with Early Childhood Faculty input, developmentally and programmatically appropriate Waldorf Curriculum for the After Care Program
Turn off lights, flush toilets, clean up classrooms, adjust thermostats, and lock doors
Supervise snack time
Greet parents as they arrive
Direct parents to sign their child out
Act as Substitute Teacher as needed for Early Childhood programs

Substitute Teacher Responsibilities Include:

Follow regular teacher’s lesson plans in a way that ensures consistency and optimal learning, and that encourages students to participate.
Assign classwork and homework as necessary, according to lesson plans.
Modify teaching styles to fit the learning styles of various students.
Maintain a well-managed classroom and positive learning environment.
Supervise students out of class such as in hallways and at playgrounds.

Requirements:

Ability to commute/relocate: New Orleans, LA 70119: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience: Early childhood education: 2 years (Required)
