# Early Childhood After Care & Assistant Teacher Peniston Campus

**After Care Teacher Duties Include:**

- Offering supervision and care to children before and during the After Care Program (After Care is offered daily from 3:00pm-5:00pm Monday, Tuesday, Wed, and Friday, and 2:00 -5:00pm on Thursday)
- Arrive at work and be ready to begin responsibilities by 12:00pm (or earlier depending on class size). Check-in with and assist the Kindergarten Lead Teacher. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday; provide care until 5:00pm. Tidy Classroom after children leave until 5:15pm.
- Arrive to work and be ready to begin responsibilities by 11:00am on Thursdays and provide care until 5:00pm. Tidy Classroom until 5:15pm.
- Implement, with Early Childhood Faculty input, developmentally and programmatically appropriate Waldorf Curriculum for the After Care Program.
- Turn off lights, flush toilets, clean up classroom, adjust thermostats, tidy kitchen, vacuum, take out trash, and lock doors.
- Supervise snack time.
- Greet parents as they arrive.
- Direct parents to sign their child out.
- Act as Substitute Teacher as needed for Early Childhood programs.

Substitute Teacher Responsibilities Include:

- Follow regular teacher’s lesson plans in a way that ensures consistency and optimal learning, and that encourages students to participate.
- Modify teaching styles to fit the learning styles of various students.
- Maintain a well-managed classroom and positive learning environment.
- Supervise students out of class such as in hallways and in outside play areas.

Requirements:

- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Experience working with preschool aged children
- Before/After School care experience preferred
- Agreement with WSNO Employee Handbook
- Friendly, flexible, and comfortable establishing classroom management
- Extremely reliable and dependable

**Job Types**: Part-time, Contract

**Pay:** $20.00 per hour

**Schedule:** Monday to Friday
