Our Pre-K/Kindergarten Class
The goal of the Waldorf Kindergarten is to nurture a sense of wonder and curiosity in the young child, while encouraging reverence for the goodness of life.
In the loving and creative atmosphere of our mixed-age Kindergarten, young children acquire the confidence and discipline they will need for the challenging academic work of grade school.
The Kindergarten program is rich in storytelling, puppetry, song, poetry, cooking, and artistic activities. Daily and weekly rhythms interwoven with seasonal celebrations support the children as they move wholeheartedly into play and learning. Crafts, handwork, games, and regular outdoor play encourage the healthy growth of the child’s body and abilities. Toys, art materials, and classroom aesthetics emphasize natural, simple materials, encouraging the development of the child’s imagination.
We are proud to be a developing member of
3 years and 8 months to 6 years.
Children must be at least 3 years and 8 months by August 15th prior to the beginning of the school year, toilet-independent, and able to comfortably be away from home for a length of time to be eligible for this program.
